142 in New York as of the last refresh, drawn from the USDA Local Food Portal and state agriculture directories. 1 publish opening hours that include today. Coverage tracks what those directories carry โ a farm that has never registered with USDA won't appear here.
You buy a season's produce up front and collect a box weekly through the harvest. It is a genuine share of the farm's season: an abundant year means a fuller box, and a bad one means a lighter box. Most New York farms open sign-ups in late winter and fill before the season starts.
Typically a few hundred dollars for a half share to around a thousand for a full share across a season, which usually works out at or below retail per week. Many farms offer payment plans, work-share arrangements or SNAP-subsidised shares.
Winter, for the season ahead. Popular farms fill their share list months before the first box, and mid-season joins are usually pro-rated if a spot opens at all.
